SOLIDWORKS Simulation

SOLIDWORKS Simulation is a portfolio of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools embedded directly inside SOLIDWORKS. There is no file export, no separate meshing application, and no context-switching between tools. Your CAD geometry, materials, and configurations feed straight into the simulation environment — and results update automatically when the design changes.

  • FEA runs inside SOLIDWORKS — same interface, same file, same model tree. Setup time drops dramatically compared to standalone analysis tools.
  • Three tiers cover everything from linear static stress to nonlinear dynamic loading, fatigue, drop test, and topology optimization.
  • Built for manufacturing validation: confirm part strength before cutting metal, catch failure modes during design review — not after production.

For CNC shops and contract manufacturers, SOLIDWORKS Simulation answers the question your customers are already asking: "Will this part hold up?" Having that answer in-house — backed by FEA data, not just engineering judgment — changes how you quote, design, and deliver.

SOLIDWORKS Authorized Reseller Morphos 3D is an authorized SOLIDWORKS reseller specializing in manufacturing validation workflows.

Morphos value-add: We do not just sell licenses — we configure simulation studies for your actual manufacturing validation workflows. That means defining load cases that reflect real operating conditions, setting up fixture constraints that match how parts are held in your machines, and building study templates your engineers can reuse across projects.

SOLIDWORKS Simulation Packages

Three tiers, each building on the one below. Start with the validation you need today — upgrading is straightforward as your analysis requirements grow.

Simulation Standard
Linear Static & Motion

Linear static stress, thermal analysis, frequency studies, and motion simulation for structural validation.

  • Linear static stress (FEA) for parts and assemblies
  • Thermal analysis (steady-state and transient)
  • Frequency — natural modes of vibration
  • Time-based motion simulation
  • Design comparison studies
  • Stress hot spot diagnostics

More Than a License — a Manufacturing Simulation Partner

Most simulation software vendors hand you a license and a manual. We take a different approach. Our team has direct experience on the shop floor — we understand the pressure you face when a customer asks if a part will hold up, and we know what a usable simulation workflow actually looks like in a busy engineering environment.

  • Configure simulation studies that match your actual manufacturing validation use cases
  • Build reusable study templates for common part families (fixtures, brackets, housings, structural weldments)
  • Define load cases that reflect your real operating conditions, not textbook examples
  • Train your engineers on simulation setup, result interpretation, and report generation
  • Ongoing support as your analysis requirements evolve — from Standard to Professional to Premium
Bottom line: SOLIDWORKS Simulation reduces prototyping costs by up to 50% when implemented correctly. Getting the implementation right is where Morphos adds the most value. We have done it for other manufacturing shops — we can do it for yours.
What We Set Up For You
1
Validation Workflow Configuration
Study types, boundary conditions, and load templates configured for your part families.
2
Material Library Setup
Your actual materials (specific alloy grades, coatings, heat treat conditions) mapped into SOLIDWORKS materials.
3
Team Training
Hands-on training with your actual parts, not generic tutorial models. Your engineers leave knowing how to run studies independently.
4
Ongoing Support
As your analysis needs grow, we are here — whether that means upgrading tiers, adding Flow Simulation, or integrating results into your design review process.

Common Questions About SOLIDWORKS Simulation

Yes — SOLIDWORKS Simulation is an add-in inside SOLIDWORKS Design, not a standalone application. SOLIDWORKS Design Premium includes a basic SimulationXpress wizard, but a full Simulation Standard license is required for assembly analysis, thermal studies, and proper result reporting.
SimulationXpress only handles single parts with fixed fixtures and linear static loads — no assemblies, no thermal, no motion. Simulation Standard adds assembly analysis, multiple load and fixture types, thermal studies, frequency analysis, and proper result reporting, making it the minimum tier for any real validation workflow.
Simulation is licensed per seat, separately from SOLIDWORKS Design, and is available on Device Term (machine-locked) or Single-User Subscription (any device). Pricing depends on your existing SOLIDWORKS license type and the tier you need — contact us for a custom quote.
Simulation runs on the same hardware as SOLIDWORKS Design: minimum 32 GB RAM (64 GB recommended for large assemblies), a modern multi-core CPU, an NVIDIA Quadro or RTX GPU with a certified driver, and an NVMe SSD. We can review your current hardware against the SOLIDWORKS certified hardware list and confirm it will handle your study types.
Yes — Simulation works on any geometry in SOLIDWORKS regardless of whether it was created natively or imported from STEP, IGES, Parasolid, or other formats. Imported geometry may need minor repair before meshing cleanly, which is standard practice; our team routinely runs studies on customer-supplied imported files.
Simulation is a structural FEA tool (stress, fatigue, vibration); Flow Simulation is a separate CFD tool for fluid flow, heat transfer, and pressure drop. The two complement each other — Flow Simulation results can feed directly into Simulation studies for coupled thermal-structural analysis, and they are licensed separately.
Yes — you can upgrade from Standard to Professional or Professional to Premium at any time by paying the difference in subscription cost. Your existing studies remain intact in your SOLIDWORKS files; upgrading simply unlocks additional study types in the same interface.
